Finally, the Indian Currency: Rupee has a symbol. Originally formed by the merger of the Devanagari 'Ra' and the Roman capital 'R' without the stem. Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's announcement that the government intended "to formalise a symbol for the Indian rupee which reflects and captures Indian ethos and culture" in his Budget speech 2010. Designed for Indian Govt by IIT post-graduate D Udaya Kumar. We are replicating this for your viewing pleasure. You can use it on anything legal wihtout any restrictions.     Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is Bengali and the symbol has a Touch of Bengali Lipi.
